KIDS: Banned Book Scavenger Hunt

9:00am - 5:00pm

Stand up to censorship!

You'd be amazed at some of the classic, popular, awesome books that have been the subject of censorship attempts! The reasons why are varied, but the result is the same; holes in the cultural and international education of our children, restriction of children's ability to grow and learn, and narrowed worldviews that plant the seeds of bigotry, with the implication being that anyone who believes differently from them must be foolish, immoral, or misinformed (source here).

Fight censorship! Click below to reserve a bundle of 5 picture books (tailored to your child's age).  You can also ask for more or fewer books or for books for multiple age ranges!

Want more info? Check out this short article from the Washington Post about why your kid should read banned books, or this page from the American Library Association about Banned Books Week 2022.

AGES 0-5: "Sing With Me" Sept.-Oct. session

10:30am - 11:00am

Lively music and movement for little ones and their grown ups!

If you have a little one who loves music, this program is for you! Join us for a half-hour of adult-&-child singing, clapping, and stomping along to favorite kids’ songs!

When the weather is nice and the temperature is over 50 degrees, we will meet on the lawn with no attendance limit. If you're not sure, check our Facebook page the morning of the program; we will also send out an email the morning of the program to everyone who is registered to let you know.

During cold weather months or when the weather is inclement, we meet in our program room and only those registered and not on the waitlist may attend. If we get a cancellation, we'll call the waitlist as soon as we hear; note that we do not leave voicemails or send email to fill cancellation spots.

Once you register, you are signed up for the entire 2-month session. Please let us know if you can't make it so we can offer your spot to someone else for the day. Our registration software doesn't send confirmation notices: you can assume you're registered unless you hear back from us.
