Drop-In Rock Painting

3:00pm - 5:00pm

We are growing a very special garden this summer to celebrate our "Library's Rock!" summer reading program theme - a painted rock garden! Drop by any Monday afternoon during the summer months to paint a rock, then join us on 8/14 for a Garden Party to celebrate the instillation of the rock garden on the library's front lawn!


Sing With Me! Music Program for Preschoolers & Their Grown-ups

10:30am - 11:00am

If you have a little one who loves music, this program is for you! Join us for a half-hour of adult-&-child singing, clapping, and stomping along to favorite kids’ songs, with occasional musical instruments or accompanying books thrown in! No need to register, just drop in! Please note that adult participation is expected for this program - and it's fun!

Bad Art Night


If you don't have an artistic bone in your body, this art night is for you! Drop in to the Children's Department to create ugly, tacky, bad art - prizes will be awarded for the most dreadful art creations! Supplies will be provided.

Puppet Show featuring Pumpernickel Puppets!


Pumpernickel Puppets presents "St. George & the Dragon," with a cast of colorful puppet characters, audience participation, live voices and sound effects and fast paced scripts that not only entertain, but stimulate children's imagination and creativity. A demonstration period follows every performance giving the audience some insight into what happens behind the scenes.

Every Wednesday afternoon during the summer we pull out our big bin of Legos! You can do free-form building, or try one of our Challenge Cards; creations will be put on display in the Children's Department for the week!

A club for Tweens & Teens ("T & T") who are fans of anime & manga! Meet every Thursday over the summer  to watch & talk about anime - with free snacks!

Make "Boredom Busters" Jars!


Whether you're a kid who hates feeling like there's nothing to do or a parent who dreads the words "I'm bored!" this craft program is the answer! Decorate a jar, then write activities & other ideas of what to do during vacation on colorful popsicle sticks (list of ideas provided to get you started). Then when the "I'm bored"s strike, reach into the jar, & pull out a plan!


This is a fun activity for families to do together as well as for individual kids.
