Pokemon is hot again! Join us for 2 hours of trading, dueling, & learning under the guidance of experienced young adult volunteers who will watch over trading for fairness and teach how to play for those who are new to the game. Please click below to register.
Minecraft players of all skill levels can bring their own devices, or may use one of the library’s eight computers to build, play & create. For elementary & up. Registration required; please click below to register.
Dip into a pail of chalk on the Library's sidewalks and write or draw why you love your library!
Drop-In Rock Painting
3:00pm - 5:00pm
We are growing a very special garden this summer to celebrate our "Library's Rock!" summer reading program theme - a painted rock garden! Drop by any Monday afternoon during the summer months to paint a rock, then join us on 8/14 for a Garden Party to celebrate the instillation of the rock garden on the library's front lawn!
Sing With Me! Music Program for Preschoolers & Their Grown-ups
10:30am - 11:00am
If you have a little one who loves music, this program is for you! Join us for a half-hour of adult-&-child singing, clapping, and stomping along to favorite kids’ songs, with occasional musical instruments or accompanying books thrown in! No need to register, just drop in! Please note that adult participation is expected for this program - and it's fun!
Enjoy a story time with your little one inspired by their favorite songs - twinkling stars, farms, monkeys, boats & more! Each program starts with a 15 minute free-play period, followed by about 15 minutes of stories, songs, finger plays, and games, and finishes up with a simple craft & a snack.
Please note that when you register your child, you are signing up for all 5. weeks. Adult participation is expected and appreciated. Siblings welcome. Please notify the Children's Department if you are unable to make a day.
See, learn about, and use some of the coolest new tech out there, like a 3D printer, a CNC milling/carving machine, Ozobots, Little Bits Electronics, & a bunch of other cool stuff. Participants will learn how to use the TinkerCAD & possibly Easel programs. Optional (but helpful): bring your laptop if you have one, so you can learn on your own device (no software needs to be installed to play with the programs introduced in the workshop).
This program is generously sponsored by a grant from the Ludlow Cultural Council.
Every Wednesday afternoon during the summer we pull out our big bin of Legos! You can do free-form building, or try one of our Challenge Cards; creations will be put on display in the Children's Department for the week!
