The summer story time series features things from your child's favorite songs, including twinkling stars, itsy bitsy spiders, & more! Each program includes about 30 minutes of stories, finger-plays, songs and games related to that week’s theme, followed by a craft project and a snack; the total storytime runs approximately 60 minutes.
Please note that when you register, you are signing your child up for the entire 6 week session.

Drop-In Rock Painting

We are growing a very special garden this summer to celebrate our "Library's Rock!" summer reading program theme - a painted rock garden! Drop by any Monday afternoon during the summer months to paint a rock, then join us on 8/14 for a Garden Party to celebrate the instillation of the rock garden on the library's front lawn!
If you took the beginner's class or if you already have some experience with playing the ukelele, this class is for you! This grant-funded class is provided free to you by the Ludlow Cultural Council. Class size is limited, please click below to register.

Sing With Me! Music Program for Preschoolers & Their Grown-ups

If you have a little one who loves music, this program is for you! Join us for a half-hour of adult-&-child singing, clapping, and stomping along to favorite kids’ songs, with occasional musical instruments or accompanying books thrown in! No need to register, just drop in! Please note that adult participation is expected for this program - and it's fun!
Painted Rock Garden Installation Ceremony and Garden Party!
Celebrate the rock garden that our patrons have spent the summer making with a party featuring lemonade & cookies, balloon animals, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, & more. Wear a fancy hat!
In case of rain the party will move to 8/21, but balloon animals will happen indoors on 8/14.
Enjoy a story time with your little one inspired by their favorite songs - twinkling stars, farms, monkeys,boats & more! Each program starts with a 15 minute free-play period, followed by about 15 minutes of stories, songs, finger plays, and games, and finishes up with a simple craft & a snack.
Please note that when you register your child, you are signing up for all 5. weeks. Adult participation is expected and appreciated. Siblings welcome. Please notify the Children's Department if you are unable to make a day.

Teddy Bear Picnic
Bring your favorite stuffed friend, a blanket, a picnic lunch, and join us on the library lawn for stories about teddy bears! If the weather is bad we will move our picnic inside.

Every Wednesday afternoon during the summer we pull out our big bin of Legos! You can do free-form building, or try one of our Challenge Cards; creations will be put on display in the Children's Department for the week!
This program is for the bounciest, wiggliest, most active little ones! Movement, music and games are mixed in with quick, interactive books for a rollicking good time, with no sitting-still required! Adult participation is expected in this program.
