The Library needs volunteers aged 11 & up (or going into 6th grade in the fall) during the summer to put away books, help prepare arts & crafts projects, & assist with the younger kids’ programs. Volunteers generally work one hour a week. If you are interested, pick up an application form & return it to the Children’s Department (NOT the Circulation Desk, please!) by June 25th at the latest.
All volunteers must attend a training session, unless they have been volunteering at the Library during the school year. Training sessions last about 2 hours. Please sign up for one when you return your signed volunteer form!
Monday morning storytime!
Children will enjoy stories, games, songs, and crafts about the things they do at different times of the day. The session runs 5 weeks.
Each storytime includes about 30 minutes of stories, finger-plays, songs and games related to that week’s theme, followed by a craft project and a snack; the total storytime runs approximately 60 minutes.
This program is crafted specifically for the attention span and interest level of 3-5 year olds. If your child is younger than 3 or may not be up for sitting and listening to 4-5 stories with 1-2 song or game breaks in between, you may want to consider our storytime for 2-3 year olds, which runs on Wednedays at 10am, or our Kangaroo Time program, which runs on Thursdays at 10am. If your child is in elementary school, you may also consider our afterschool program for 5-8 year olds on Thurdsay afternoons at 4pm

Even little kids can learn how to create snacks that will satisfy both their tastes and their parents' health preferences! Safe, no-bake recipes that even preschoolers can do will be followed by eating the results!
