Whether you've only discovered Godzilla recently through the Legendary films or go all the way back to the earliest Toho movies, this is going to be a fun night! Meet us on the library lawn for a chance to win awesome prizes!

In-person attendees must wear a mask that remains over the nose and mouth for the entire event and are expected to maintain social distance. If you cannot make it in person, you can also attend via Zoom! In case of rain the program will take place exclusively online.

Come join us for stories, songs and skill building, led by an Early Childhood Developmental trained staff member, guiding caregivers in strengthening interactions with their child.  Program happens via video conferencing and  includes curriculum, Ages and Stages Questionnaire and resources to fit your child’s individual needs. For ages 18-36 months old.

Jackbox Games on the library lawn!

Join Olivia for some awesome LIVE gaming (similar to Pictionary, trivia & Mad Libs) through Jackbox games on Steam! There are over 35 unique games that include drawing games, trivia games, Imposter style games, and many more - if you have never played before they are easy to learn and a lot of fun! We'll meet on the library lawn under our tents, and use our portable flatscreen to play (bring a phone or tablet to participate or the library can loan you a mini-tablet). You can also Zoom in to join; if it rains we'll switch to virtual format. For ages 12+. Please register.

Hybrid program: PreSchool Storytime series "Celebrate Spring")

Monday morning storytime!

Meet Youth Services librarian July each Monday morning on the library lawn when weather allows or virtually if not for 30 minutes of funny, informative, engaging stories, finger-plays, songs and games!

This is a hybrid program: it will take place on the library lawn with equipment set up so that those who wish to remain at home can still participate virtually. In the event of bad weather, the program will happen only via Zoom ; weather-related announcements will be made on our Facebook page the morning of the program & emailed to registrants.  For in-person outdoor programs, masks that remain over the nose and mouth for the entirety of the program are required for everyone aged 24 months and up, and 6' of distance must be maintained between families.

We have 10 haybales to sit on, feel free to bring your own blankets &/or camp chairs!

For safety reasons, registration is required. If the program is happening virtually, please note that REGISTRATION CLOSES 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE PROGRAM BEGINS. Once you've registered, you are signed up for all the storytimes through mid-June will receive an email each week with the theme and Zoom link. 

No storytime on 4/19 or 5/31.

Virtual Meditation Workshop

join us for our final virtual meditation this spring.  Join us along with Amy Rutledge, a certified meditation instructor to learn how to cultivate self love, self worth, confidence, compassion, focus, concentration, stress, anxiety relief, and help with navigating difficult emotions and change. Promote connection, community, and peace to all.  Classes are 30 minutes with an intro, guided practice, then time for Q&A. Open to all levels and beginners welcome!

"Whose Shoes" Story program for 5-8 year olds

Biographical stories presented in picture book form are the hot new genre, and we’ll get inspired & entertained (& maybe even educated, shhh!) as we spend 30-40 minutes “walking a mile” in different people’s shoes each week! Recommended for ages 5-8.

"Heroes Academy" LARP (Live Action Role Play) Adventure Program!

Thanks to a grant from the Ludlow Cultural Council, we will offer a fabulous all day in-person LARP program!

LARP Adventure Program is a combination of theater, martial arts, and costume/prop/stage design. We combine these arts with critical thinking, creative problem solving, and community leadership skills. Come and be part of the unique interdisciplinary experience that the LARP Adventure Program offers!

5th & 6th graders create their own characters and play out a storyline quest in a safe, socially distant format that takes place outdoors on Library grounds and in surrounding park areas.

Older teens can be Non-Playing Characters (NPCs) and help run the game. 

The event will lead by the certified instructors and assistant instructors of LARP Adventure Program. Each instructor has at least four years of experience in LARP’s program. The instructors will teach middle school-aged youth how to be responsible for themselves, while high-school aged youth can CIT and learn event management, leadership skills, and personal development tools for a successful life.

Rules for maintaining 6' distance at all times and wearing masks will be built into the game. Participants will need to bring their own water bottles and non-perishable bagged lunches.

Stained Glass Mosaic Trivet Virtual Craft

Make a Mosaic Tile Trivet

Join us for a virtual craft.  These "make-at-home" mosaic tile trivet kits allow you to explore the art of stained glass mosaics from home.  There is a limit of 12 participants, adults only please.  Register on our website to receive a link to the workshop via e-mail on the day of the event and to arrange to pick-up class materials.

Smash Brothers Tournament

Smash Bros Tourney on the library lawn!

Test your skill against other players for a chance at the trophy (yes, there will actually be real trophies!) and ultimate bragging rights as Ludlow’s Smash Bros champ. We will be playing outside on the library lawn (under tents) on the library’s Nintendo Switch. For ages 12-17, space limited to 16 people. You must register to participate, and registration closes 24 hours before the event so that we have time to build the tournament bracket.

Make "Boredom Busters" Jars on the library lawn!

2:00pm - 2:30pm

Join us on the library lawn to decorate a jar, then write activities & other ideas of what to do during vacation on colorful popsicle sticks (list of ideas provided to get you started). Then when the "I'm bored"s strike, reach into the jar, & pull out a plan! This is a fun activity for families to do together as well as for individual kids! If it rains, the jars will be available to pick up from curbside service to do at home for everyone who registers.

Animal BINGO!

Family Fun Hour!

Play bingo for real prizes and answer trivia questions all about animals. Do you know what a group of porcupines is called? How about where in the world you would find a Cape Penguin? All questions will be multiple choice, giving you a chance to guess even if you don’t know the answers! This program is for teens, tweens, & younger kids with their caregivers - family teams encouraged! Movie Club Virtual Meetings are one Tuesday per month at 6:30 PM.

Join us for monthly discussions of classic movies and other movies by request.  This month's pick is Splash!  Watch your movie at home with a DVD available for checkout at the library prior to the event then meet online or by phone to discuss. You do not need to be a club member to attend, but you must register to get the invite link which will be sent on the day of the meeting.  There is aphone-in option available.
